| Description | In 1996, following a near-death experience during pregnancy, Anne became an advocate for maternal health. In 1999, she founded the Preeclampsia Foundation. Preeclampsia is a leading cause of maternal death globally. She has co-founded four nonprofits, including the Microsoft Alumni Foundation. She, and co-writer, and fellow near-miss survivor Jennifer Binkley Carney, are currently filming their documentary film, UNEXPECTED, about the state of maternal health in the US. UNEXPECTED is funded, in part, by Lucina Maternity and is part of their joint Save a Mother's Lifecampaign. |
